“It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves.” ~Sir Edmund Hillary

The line between “ice climbing” and traditional “mountaineering” can be a blurry one.  It is important for aspiring mountaineers to be familiar with everything from moving together as a roped team up a steep snow slope, to “pitching it out” when the terrain gets more challenging (or turns to ice).  Proper rope use, ice axe and crampon technique is practiced during this course as we ascend an objective that presents a variety of challenges.
