Rock Climbing 101

Rock Climbing 101 is our introductory level climbing day.  Perfect for complete beginners, families, group events, and for the gym climber who wishes to make the transition to outdoor climbing.  Guests learn all the basics: Equipment details, tying a climbing rope into a harness, belaying, rappelling, and movement over rock skills (such as footwork and body position).  The bulk of the day is spent on the rock, so guests get plenty of climbing time.

Guide to Guest ratio: 1:6

Where:  Generally at one of the many sites within the White Mountains of New Hampshire.  Specific location information will be determined upon booking. Popular areas include Cathedral Ledge, Square Ledge, Echo Crag and Rumney Rocks.

Time: 1 Day, 8:30am-4:30pm

Cost: $125 per person (minimum of 3 person enrollment for class to run).  OR Book a Private Course and have the flexibility of your own date, time and material covered.

Equipment: We provide harnesses, helmets, climbing shoes and all necessary hardware.  You are responsible for your own food, water, and appropriate clothing.  See our recommended equipment list for details.

Not Included: Food, lodging and transportation is not included.

What Next:  Upon completion, guests will be well suited to move on to the Rock 201 Course and take there newly acquired skills into multi-pitch terrain.
